DO YOU HAVE A HARD TIME WALKING BY A QUILT WITHOUT TOUCHING IT?
You may have a condition called acute Cushytextileofeelia. Experts are divided in their beliefs about the origin of this condition. Some believe that it is genetic and may have been passed down from maternal ancestors who were active participants in frequent and intense quilting bees. Other research has suggested that environmental factors are to blame, such as prolonged exposure to quilt shops and antique malls. Further data suggests the condition can be exacerbated by contact with fluffy pets and even babies.
If you think you may suffer from this condition, there is good news and bad. Unfortunately, it is not reversible. And although most afflicted individuals have periods of brief remission, they will never be totally without symptoms. Expert opinions may differ regarding the cause but they generally agree on the treatment--and for that you have come to the right place.
Unlike some addictions which require withdrawal in order to cure, Cushytextileofeelia actually improves with contact. Yes, it's true! Those with this condition can only be helped by surrounding themselves with quilts--the brighter and more cheerful, the better. We, at OFF YOUR ROCKER, would love to help you We currently have two pattern lines available for your enjoyment:
Rock My Soul quilts are Bible theme quilts, most of which incorporate Bible verses. At present, two of these quilt patterns come complete with screen-printed fabric panels--"Be Still" (Psalms 46:10) and "Birds of the Air" (Matthew 6:26). These panels are 100% cotton and may be laundered if necessary. The verse on "Trust in the Lord" (Proverbs 3:5) is embroidered with a straight stitch. All three of these patterns incorporate simple iron-on applique´.
Off Your Rocker quilts are our original series. Many are inspired by the beauty of the area we live in--the southwestern U.S. Where applique´ is used, it is simple iron-on. Several of these patterns have straightforward patchwork. Rock Stars uses paper-piecing technique.
